Jakob Leiner

Jakob Leiner, born in 1992, studied human medicine at universities in Saarbrücken, Valencia, Basel and Freiburg and worked as a physician and writer. From 2016 onward, he published texts in journals, anthologies and book form. His poetry collections include klein.odien.woche. (2021) and GEWETTER (2022); his work also appeared in the anthology Jahrbuch der Lyrik 2022. Leiner was a young student at the Karlsruhe University of Music and a member of the State Youth Orchestra of Rhineland-Palatinate and the German National Youth Orchestra, where he played French horn and piano. He was longlisted for the Gustav A. Bähr Young Literature Award in 2021, shortlisted for the Anna Haag Prize in 2023 and longlisted for the Thaddäus Troll Prize in 2023.
