Dirk Oschmann, born in Gotha in 1967, is a literary scholar and professor of modern German literature at Leipzig University. He studied in Jena and Buffalo, USA, and held visiting professorships in England and the United States. His publications include “Freiheit und Fremdheit. Kafkas Romane” (2021) and “Der Osten: eine westdeutsche Erfindung” (2023).
