Dirk von Petersdorff (born 1966) is a literary scholar, writer and poet. He was a professor of modern German literature at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. He has published essays, short prose, the novel Wie bin ich denn hierhergekommen (2018), and several poetry collections, including Sirenenpop (2014) and Unsere Spiele enden nicht (2021). His other publications include Geschichte der deutschen Lyrik, published in the C.H.Beck Wissen series. In 2023, he edited a revised edition of the poetry anthology Der ewige Brunnen. Petersdorff has received, among other distinctions, the Kleist Prize and the LiteraTour Nord Prize.
