Bernadette

Bernadette Watts, born in 1942 in Northampton, England, is an English illustrator and children’s author. She studied illustration and art at Maidstone College of Art in Kent and worked as a freelance illustrator from 1968 onward. Her first picture book was published by NordSüd Verlag that same year. She became particularly known for illustrating numerous fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen. She also wrote children’s books of her own and received numerous awards for her work.
