Steffen Weinert

Steffen Weinert, born in 1975, studied at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg and works as a writer and director. His short film “Der Aufreißer” screened at more than 60 national and international film festivals and won over 20 awards. His feature-film debut, “Finn und der Weg zum Himmel,” was shown at festivals including those in Shanghai, Stuttgart and Biberach and was broadcast by the German public broadcasters SWR and BR. Weinert’s second feature film, the drama “Das Leben meiner Tochter,” was released in German cinemas in 2019. His novel “Die Netten schlafen allein” was published by Rowohlt in 2016.
