Su Turhan

Su Turhan (born 1966 in Istanbul) came to Germany at the age of two as the child of Turkish guest workers. He studied German literature, with a focus on film studies, at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and subsequently worked as a production manager, assistant director, screenwriter and director. His short film “Gone Underground” received, among other distinctions, the German Short Film Award in Silver. His first feature film, “Ayla,” premiered at the 2010 Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival and won audience awards in New York and Siena. Turhan made his debut as a crime novelist with the series featuring “Kommissar Pascha.”
