S. J. Bennett is a British author. Before beginning her mystery series featuring Queen Elizabeth as an amateur detective, she wrote several award-winning young adult books. The Her Majesty Investigates novels are explicitly fictional and portray the British queen as a secret crime solver. Bennett grew up reading Dorothy L. Sayers, P. D. James, Ellery Queen and Rex Stout, and has also worked as a creative writing teacher.
