Maren Briswalter

Maren Briswalter (born 1961) studied painting at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Dresden and visual communication at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach. She worked as a freelance illustrator of picture books, children’s and young adult books, and nonfiction, and created illustrated stories for children’s television programs such as Siebenstein and Die Sendung mit der Maus. Several books she illustrated received the German Academy for Children’s and Young People’s Literature’s “Book of the Month” distinction or appeared on the “Best 7” recommended list.
