Rudolf Herfurtner

Rudolf Herfurtner was born in Wasserburg am Inn in 1947. He studied German, English and theatre studies in Munich. From 1971, he wrote for the culture section of a Munich daily newspaper and worked as a trainee at Bavarian Radio and Television. From 1973 onward, he published children’s and young adult books, plays, radio dramas, screenplays and opera librettos. His notable works include “Spatz Fritz,” “MILO” and “Motzarella und die Weihnachtswölfe.” He received numerous awards, including the Grand Prize of the Volkacher Academy for Children’s and Young Adult Literature in 2002.
