Manfred Loimeier

Manfred Loimeier (born 1960) studied German, art history and philosophy in Tübingen, Vienna, Basel, Berlin and Bayreuth. He received a doctorate in comparative literature and completed his habilitation on African literatures in Heidelberg in 2010. Loimeier worked as an editor at the newspaper Mannheimer Morgen and was a private lecturer at the universities of Heidelberg, Mannheim and Mainz. From 2018, he was an adjunct professor of African literatures at Heidelberg University. His publications include monographs on J. M. Coetzee, Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o and Herbert Achternbusch.
