Aya Cissoko

Aya Cissoko was born in France in 1978. She competed as an amateur boxer and won the amateur boxing world championship in 2006. A spinal fracture ended her boxing career in 2010. In 2011, she published the autobiographical work “danbé” with Marie Desplechin; it was later adapted into the film “Wohin ich gehe.” Cissoko studied political science at the Institut d’études politiques in Paris. Her second book, “n’ba,” was published in 2016.
