Thomas Brechenmacher

Thomas Brechenmacher (born 1964) is a German historian. He studied history, German literature and philosophy in Munich. From 1995 to 2003, he worked as a research associate and lecturer at the Institute of History of the Bundeswehr University. He subsequently taught and conducted research at the German Historical Institute in Rome and at the University of Passau. In 2007, he took up a professorship in modern history at the University of Potsdam. His research focuses on modern German-Jewish and European-Jewish history, particularly the 19th and 20th centuries.
