Born in 1949, Oskar Beck is a German sports journalist and author. He began his career as head of the sports desk at the Stuttgarter Nachrichten and later worked as a freelance writer for publications including SPORTS, Sport-Illustrierte and Sport (Zurich). From 1996 onward, he wrote a weekly column for the Stuttgarter Zeitung, and from 2003 also for Die Welt. Beck published several books, including Drei unten, drei oben, Jahrhunderthelden, Profi auf Stellensuche and Und alles wegen Ali (2021), and contributed to sports and World Cup publications. His journalism was recognized with numerous awards.
