Norbert Miller

Norbert Miller, born in Munich in 1937, studied literary and musicology as well as art history in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin. From 1962 to 1965, he worked as an assistant at the University of Frankfurt am Main. From 1973 to 2006, he taught comparative literature at Technische Universität Berlin, where he was most recently professor of modern German literature and general and comparative literature. His publications include “Der Wanderer. Goethe in Italien” (2002), “Die ungeheure Gewalt der Musik. Goethe und seine Komponisten” (2009), “Paradox und Wunderschachtel” (2012), “Marblemania. Kavaliersreisen und der römische Antikenhandel” (2018), and “Piranesis römische Anfänge und seine Rezeption in England” (2021).
