Nils Pickert

Born in East Berlin in 1979, Nils Pickert studied literature and politics and worked as a freelance journalist for publications including Die Zeit, the taz, the Swiss Tages-Anzeiger and Austria’s Der Standard. In 2012, he wore a skirt in solidarity with his five-year-old son, attracting international attention. From 2013 onward, he was involved with Pinkstinks, campaigning against sexism and homophobia, and gave talks on feminism, gender-equitable education and gender stereotypes. His publications include the books “Prinzessinnenjungs” and “Lebenskompliz*innen” and the children’s book “Seeräubermädchen & Prinzessinnenjunge”.
