Nicole Neubauer was born in Ingolstadt in 1972 and studied English literature and law in Munich and London. After ten years at a commercial law firm, she worked as an author, lawyer and editor. Her novels include *Kellerkind*, *Moorfeuer*, *Scherbennacht* and *Opferstunde*, which form part of the crime series featuring Chief Inspector Waechter and his team. Neubauer was a member of the organizations Mörderische Schwestern e.V. and Autorinnenvereinigung e.V.
