Mark Benecke (born 1970) is a German criminal biologist and a specialist in forensic entomology, the forensic and criminal investigation of insects. He holds a doctorate in biology and has worked as a publicly appointed expert, a trainer at police academies, and a lecturer at universities and the FBI Academy. Benecke has published numerous popular-science and specialist books, as well as books for children. His works include “Mordspuren,” “Vampire unter uns,” “Memento Mori – Der Traum vom ewigen Leben,” and “Seziert. Das Leben von Otto Prokop.” He has also appeared as a science communicator on radio and television and in public lectures.
