Lydia Benecke is a psychologist and therapist. From 2009 onward, she worked as a criminal psychologist with a focus on recidivism prevention, including in a social-therapeutic prison facility and an outpatient clinic for serious offenders. She also worked as a trainer, including for the police, and as a public speaker. Her publications include *Auf dünnem Eis*, *Sadisten* and *Psychopathinnen*; she was also a co-author of *Aus der Dunkelkammer des Bösen*.
