Manfred Reuter, born in 1957, is originally from the Eifel region of Germany. A trained journalist, he worked among other positions as local editor-in-chief at the Trierischer Volksfreund in Bitburg and as editor-in-chief of the Norderneyer Badezeitung. He has published several novels and numerous short stories, including the Norderney crime novels Norderney-Flucht and Norderney-Rache, featuring detectives Gent Visser and Carlo Faust.
