Gerrit Wustmann

Gerrit Wustmann, born in Cologne in 1982, is a writer and journalist. His publications include several poetry collections and anthologies, among them a German-Turkish poetry trilogy about Istanbul, published between 2011 and 2016, and the German-Persian collection “grüngewandet” (2014). In 2021 he published the essay “Weltliteratur. Warum wir ein neues Literaturverständnis brauchen,” and in 2022 he edited the anthology “Stimmen der Freiheit. Zur Freiheit des Wortes in der Türkei.” Wustmann’s poems have been translated into, among other languages, Turkish, Persian, Arabic, Greek, and Italian. His literary work has received several fellowships, the postpoetry.NRW Poetry Prize in 2012, and North Rhine-Westphalia’s Förderpreis für junge Künstler*innen in 2015.
