Georg Goyert

Georg Goyert (1884–1966) was a German literary translator. He translated more than 300 works from French, English, and American literature into German, including novels by D. H. Lawrence and William Faulkner, as well as works by Ralph Ellison, Albert Camus, and Julien Green. Among his most notable achievements was the authorized German translation of James Joyce’s “Ulysses.” His estate also contained a translation of Lawrence’s “Lady Chatterley” that had not been published during his lifetime.
