Friedrich Stephan

Born in 1944, Friedrich Stephan was a teacher of English and Latin and a teacher trainer for English. As an editor, he curated the Stephan-Kühn historical children’s book collection, founded by his late wife, Freya Stephan-Kühn, which includes many German and international children’s classics. For the ARENA Children’s Classics series, he newly translated several English titles into German and abridged or adapted others. He was also involved in Germany’s Bundeswettbewerb Fremdsprachen language competition.
