Eoin Colfer

Eoin Colfer, born in 1965 in Wexford, Ireland, studied in Dublin and worked for several years as a primary-school teacher, including in Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Italy. He became internationally known as the author of the successful Artemis Fowl series. He also wrote numerous other books for children and young adults, as well as crime novels for adults. In 2004, he received the German Book Prize.
