Christopher Neumaier

Christopher Neumaier, born in 1978, studied modern and contemporary history, social and economic history, and sociology at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, as well as European Studies at the University of Cambridge. From 2004 to 2007, he was a research associate at the Central Institute for the History of Technology at the Technical University of Munich; during this period, he also received a fellowship from the German Historical Institute in Washington, D.C. He earned a doctorate in history from the Technical University of Munich in 2008. He subsequently completed his habilitation at the University of Potsdam and held professorial appointments in Munich and Hamburg. His research focuses include German-French history, the history of technology, and changing values and family in the twentieth century.
