Brigitte Helbling

Brigitte Helbling (born 1960) worked as a freelance cultural journalist from 1987, focusing on comics, literature and essays. From 2000 onward, she wrote around two dozen theatre texts, many of them developed in close collaboration with director Niklaus Helbling and the independent theatre collective Mass & Fieber, later also Mass & Fieber OST. Her plays premiered at theatres including venues in Mainz, Basel, Dresden and at Theater Kanton Zürich. In 2021, she co-curated the exhibition “Frauen im Laufgitter” at the Strauhof Literature Museum with Mass & Fieber. She has also published the novels “Queer Story” (2013), “Die Mädchen” (2015) and “Meine Schwiegermutter, der Mondmann und ich” (2022).
