Bernard Hoffmeister

Bernard Hoffmeister studied philosophy and cultural studies in Hildesheim and Düsseldorf. As a cultural scholar and author, he focused particularly on film, capitalism and Walter Benjamin. He received the Heinrich Heine University’s Teaching Award in 2022. Hoffmeister performed as a slam poet and author at cabaret venues, wrote television quiz questions—including for »Gefragt – Gejagt«—and worked as a literary mediator and moderator. In 2017, he helped organize the German-language Poetry Slam Championships in Hanover. Together with Johannes Floehr, he ran the blog »Unnützes Slamwissen«.
