Angelica Ammar

Angelica Ammar was born in Munich in 1972. She studied Romance philology and ethnology in Munich, Madrid, and Paris and worked as a translator from Spanish. Among the authors she translated are Sergio Pitol, Mario Vargas Llosa, and Eduardo Galeano. In 2019, she and Mexican author Fernanda Melchor received the International Literature Prize of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt for the translation of Hurricane Season. As an author, Ammar published, among other works, the novel The Time of Green Almonds.
