Ursula Blank-Sangmeister is a classical philologist, translator, and author. She studied Latin and Romance languages and literature in Marburg, Konstanz, Berkeley, and Regensburg, where she earned a doctorate in Latin and worked as a research assistant in the Department of Classical Latin Philology. She subsequently taught Latin and French at secondary schools in Hamburg and Kassel. Since 1991, she has translated literary works from Latin, including texts by Cicero, Livy, Suetonius, and Petrarch, as well as nonfiction from French and English. She has translated several books for Reclam.
