Tom Kristensen

Tom Kristensen (1893–1974) was a Danish writer. Born in London, he grew up in Copenhagen. After completing his teacher training, he worked as an English teacher at a commercial school in Copenhagen and made his literary debut with a volume of poetry in 1920. He wrote poetry influenced by Expressionism, as well as novellas and novels. His best-known works include the novel »Absturz«. Kristensen also worked as a literary editor for the newspaper »Politiken«, contributing reviews and occasional poems. He translated works by authors including James Joyce, Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner, and T. S. Eliot into Danish.
