Tim Sale (born 1956) was an American comic-book artist and inker. He made his debut in the mid-1980s with adaptations of novels by Robert Asprin and worked on Matt Wagner’s series Grendel toward the end of the decade. In 1991, he inked his first Batman story; a year later, he drew a multi-part story for Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight. From the early 1990s onward, Sale collaborated repeatedly with writer Jeph Loeb. Their projects included Batman: The Long Halloween, Catwoman: When in Rome, Spider-Man: Blue, and Daredevil: Yellow. Sale also worked on Billi 99, Deathblow, Wolverine/Gambit, and Superman: Kryptonite, among other comics. For the television series Heroes, he created paintings that appeared as part of the story in its episodes.
