Darwyn Cooke

Darwyn Cooke (1962–2016) was a Canadian comic book artist, graphic designer, and art director. In the 1990s, he worked as a storyboard artist on animated series including *Batman Adventures*, *Superman*, and *Men in Black: The Series*; he also animated the opening sequence for *Batman Beyond*. As a writer and artist, he became known for works including *Batman: Ego*, *DC: The New Frontier*, *The Spirit: The New Adventures*, and *Before Watchmen: Minutemen*. He also created stories featuring *Parker*, Spider-Man, the X-Men, and Jonah Hex. Cooke received thirteen Eisner Awards, eight Harvey Awards, and five Joe Shuster Awards.
