Tilman Spreckelsen, born in 1967 in Kronberg im Taunus, studied German and history in Freiburg. He worked as a literary editor for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and published novels, retellings of legends, essays, and anthologies. His crime novel »Das Nordseegrab« received the Theodor Storm Prize of the city of Husum in 2014; it was followed by »Der Nordseespuk« and »Der Nordseeschwur«. Spreckelsen edited Fischer’s »Bücher mit dem blauen Band« series and was the first Grimm civic lecturer of the city of Hanau and Goethe University Frankfurt.
