Theresa Hannig (born 1984 in Munich) studied political science, philosophy and economics at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Before becoming a writer, she worked as a software developer, SAP consultant, solar-project manager and lighting designer. Her debut novel, “Die Optimierer,” won the Stefan Lübbe Prize in 2016 and the Seraph for Best Debut in 2018. It was followed by “Die Unvollkommenen” (2019) and the novel “Pantopia,” which received the 2023 Seraph for Best Book. In 2023, Hannig also received the Tassilo Culture Prize of the Süddeutsche Zeitung for her commitment to increasing the visibility of women writers.
