Tadeusz Borowski (1922–1951) was a Polish writer. He studied Polish literature at the underground university in Warsaw. Arrested in 1943, he was deported to Auschwitz and subsequently imprisoned in other concentration camps, most recently Dachau. After the camps were liberated, he stayed in Munich, where a volume of his poetry was published in 1945. Borowski later worked as an editor in Warsaw and as a correspondent in Berlin in 1949–50. He left behind three poetry collections and four volumes of stories and died in Warsaw in 1951.
