Simon Froehling

Born in 1978, Simon Froehling is a Swiss-Australian dual national and a graduate of the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel. In the early 2000s, he established himself as a poet and playwright; more than a dozen of his plays and radio dramas were performed or broadcast in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. His first novel, “Lange Nächte Tag,” was published by Bilgerverlag in 2010. His work has received, among other distinctions, the Audience Award of the St. Gallen Authors’ Days, the Playwright’s Prize of the Swiss Authors’ Society, and a Heinz Weder Recognition Award for Poetry. “Dürrst” was nominated for the Swiss Book Prize in 2022 and received a recognition award from the Canton of Zurich. Froehling has also worked as a translator and dramaturg.
