Sabine Fellner

Sabine Fellner studied art history and history at the University of Vienna and the Sorbonne in Paris, earning a doctorate in 1987. From 1989 to 1993, she worked as a curator at the Austrian Tobacco Museum; she later curated the Austria Tabak and JTI collection. From 1994 onward, she worked as an independent exhibition curator and author. Her exhibitions included “Störenfriede – der Schrecken der Avantgarde von Makart bis Nitsch,” “Die bessere Hälfte. Jüdische Künstlerinnen bis 1938,” “Die Kraft des Alters,” and “Stadt der Frauen.” Fellner published several works on everyday culture and on 19th- and 20th-century Austrian art and cultural history. The accompanying book to “Die Kraft des Alters” was nominated for Austria’s “Most Beautiful Books” award.
