Sabine Baumann

Sabine Baumann (born 1966 in Frankfurt am Main) studied English, American and Slavic studies in Frankfurt am Main, Bloomington and New York. After completing her doctorate, she worked as an editor at several publishing houses and as a lecturer in English and Eastern European literature at Goethe University Frankfurt. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the work of Vladimir Nabokov, whose writing she also translated. Her translations include Alexander Pushkin’s “Eugene Onegin” and Nabokov’s commentary on the poem. In 2010, she received the Translator’s Prize of the Kunststiftung NRW for this work.
