Sabine Adatepe studied Turkology, Iranian Studies and German Studies in Hamburg. She worked as an author, literary translator and editor, publishing essays, short stories and novels and translating numerous books from Turkish, including works by Mine Söğüt, Burhan Sönmez and Ahmet Ümit. Her debut novel, “Kein Frühling für Bahar,” was published in 2013, followed by “Lichtblau” in 2022. In 2014, she edited the anthology “Gezi,” featuring contributions by 19 Turkish authors. In 2022, she received the International Hermann Hesse Prize jointly with author Hakan Günday for her translations of his works.
