Roland Borgards (born 1968) is a literary scholar. His academic career includes a professorship in modern German literature and German literary history at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. His research has included the literary and cultural history of Romanticism. His publications include *Poetik des Schmerzes. Physiologie und Literatur von Brockes bis Büchner* (2009) and *Texts, Animals, Environments. Zoopoetics and Eco.poetics* (2019).
