Rene Denfeld

Before becoming a writer, Rene Denfeld worked as an investigator for the public defense and examined hundreds of serious crimes, including the case of the Central Park Five. In several proceedings, she helped prevent people from receiving the death penalty. In 2017, The New York Times named her a “Hero of the Year.” Denfeld is the author of the widely acclaimed novels The Enchanted, The Child Finder, published in German as Das Schneemädchen, and The Butterfly Girl, published in German as Das Schmetterlingsmädchen.
