Remo H. Largo (1943–2020) was a Swiss pediatrician and developmental researcher. He studied medicine at the University of Zurich and developmental pediatrics at the University of California, Los Angeles. From 1978, he headed the Department of Growth and Development at Zurich Children’s Hospital for almost three decades and was Professor of Pediatrics until his retirement in 2005. The Zurich Longitudinal Studies conducted under his direction are among the most comprehensive studies of child development. Largo published numerous scientific papers as well as popular books, including Baby Years, Children’s Years, School Years, and Youth Years, the latter two in collaboration with Monika Czernin. His works are regarded as classics of parenting literature.
