Olga Radetzkaja, born in Amberg in 1965, studied Slavic studies and comparative literature. She worked as a translator, primarily from Russian, translating works by authors including Leo Tolstoy, Julius Margolin, Vladimir Sorokin, Viktor Shklovsky, Evgeny Vodolazkin, Polina Barskova, and Maria Stepanova into German. From 2008 onward, she worked as an editor for the journal Osteuropa. She also co-authored the documentary film Spurwechsel. Ein Film vom Übersetzen (2003). In 2019, she received the Straelen Translator’s Prize for her translation of Viktor Shklovsky’s Sentimental Journey. In 2020, she was awarded the Brücke Berlin Prize jointly with Maria Stepanova.
