Niklas Maak

Niklas Maak, born in Hamburg in 1972, studied art history, philosophy and architecture in Hamburg and Paris. In 2001, he became an editor for art and architecture in the features section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. He also worked as a visiting professor of architectural history in Frankfurt and at Harvard University. In 2022, Maak received the Johann-Heinrich-Merck Prize for Literary Criticism and Essays. His books include “Durch Manhattan” (2017, with Leanne Shapton), the novel “Technophoria” (2020), and “Eine Frau und ein Mann” (2023, with Leanne Shapton).
