Peter Stamm (born 1963) is a Swiss author. He studied English, psychology and psychopathology for several semesters and held various jobs before pursuing his writing career, including positions in Paris and New York. In 1990, he began working as a freelance author and journalist. He has written novels, short stories, plays and more than a dozen radio dramas. His debut novel, »Agnes«, was published in 1998; later works include »To the Back of Beyond«, »The Sweet Indifference of the World«, »The Archive of Feelings« and »In a Dark Blue Hour«. He received the Swiss Book Prize in 2018 for »The Sweet Indifference of the World«. His other honors include the Friedrich Hölderlin Prize (2014), the Cotta Literature Prize (2017) and the Solothurn Literature Prize (2018).
