Michael Mertes, born in 1953, studied law in Bonn, Tübingen, and at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He has worked as a nonfiction author and literary translator. His publications include contributions on the significance of conspiracy myths in international relations, the history of Holocaust remembrance in Western and Eastern Europe, and new trends in antisemitism. His book “Zyklen der Macht. Über Dynamik und Stagnation. Aufstieg und Niedergang in der Politik” was published in 2021.
