Leander Steinkopf (born 1985) is a narrator, essayist and science journalist. He studied in Mannheim, Berlin and Sarajevo and received his doctorate in 2016; his dissertation focused on the placebo effect. As a freelance author, he has published in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Die Welt, Die taz, the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Sinn und Form and Merkur, among other outlets. His books include Stadt der Feen und Wünsche and Der Reiz des Verbotenen (2024). In 2018, his debut was nominated for the Kranichsteiner Literature Promotion Prize and the Ulla Hahn Authors’ Prize.
