Matthias Beilein

Matthias Beilein (born 1970) studied German philology, journalism and communication studies, as well as modern and contemporary history, in Göttingen. He received his Magister Artium in 2001 and earned his doctorate in 2006. From 2004 onward, he worked at the Göttingen Research Centre for the Theory of Literature, where he headed the editorial team of the Annotated Database of Literary Theory. From 2006 onward, he coordinated the Volkswagen Foundation-funded doctoral programme “Wertung und Kanon” (“Evaluation and Canon”).
