Markus Rex

Markus Rex is an atmospheric physicist and a professor of atmospheric physics at the University of Potsdam. At the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research, he headed atmospheric research. He has taken part in numerous expeditions to the Arctic, Antarctic and other remote regions to study climate processes. He is particularly known for leading the MOSAiC project, a year-long expedition of the research vessel Polarstern into the central Arctic, involving 90 institutions from 20 countries.
