Marion Kraft

Marion Kraft, born in 1946 in Gelsenkirchen, is an Afro-German literary scholar, Germanist, Americanist, author, editor, and translator. After studying for a teaching degree, she earned a doctorate in literary studies and worked for more than three decades as a teacher and lecturer in Germany and the United States. Her areas of focus include racism, Black feminist theory and literature, and the Black movement in Germany. She has published several books and numerous essays. As a translator, she has translated works by, among others, Buchi Emecheta, Amanda Gorman, Audre Lorde, bell hooks, and Toni Morrison into German. Her debut novel is Weltenwechsel.
