Maria-Christina Piwowarski worked for ten years at the Berlin bookstore ocelot, serving as its manager for five of those years. In 2020, she was a member of the German Book Prize jury; in 2021, she helped select the Hotlist; and in 2023, she served on the jury for the Bücherfrauen Literaturpreis Christine. She has also moderated literary readings and events and discussed books on the radio.
